Donald Trump and some in his cabinet and some outside it conspired to overturn the 2022 election and fomented an insurrection and a violet attack on the US capital on January 6th, 2022, in which people died and government officials were stalked and threatened with violence–even death. Trump sought to obstruct the operation of the vote count in that election, have the Vice President discount legal votes and honor fake electors and their vote counts; he also petitioned the Secretary of the State of Georgie to ‘find more votes’. The evidence shows he knew he lost the election before January 6th and that he did nothing for nearly 3 hours as the Capital building was attacked and police and insurrectionist rioters battled on the grounds of the building and indoors. To this day Trump pretends he did not lose the election, that “it was stolen” and he lies about it continually despite election officials certifying the election results in all 50 states saying it was the most secure election in our history.

Trump’s arguments irrational; the Court said: ”At bottom, former President’s Trump’s stance would collapse our system of separated powers by placing the president beyond the reach of all three branches; the former president would be free to commit all manner of crimes with immunity”, and fundamentally rejects that in every way.’ Now Trump has one week to file an appeal with the Supreme Court.
